Hurricane Mitch Stirs Up Charitable Response From DPC

Hurricane Mitch battered Central America in late October of 1998, causing the worst regional disaster in 200 years. The CARE Foundation sought funding for relief and rehabilitation efforts in the area, and DPC responded. Two hundred twenty DPC employees contributed extra work hours worth a total of $34,168. The Company matched this amount and presented a check for $68,337 to CARE in December. The money collected by CARE has benefitted the people of Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatamala.

The Hurricane Mitch relief effort drew the largest response from DPC employees to date. Aiding the victims of natural disasters and political upheavals is a DPC tradition dating back 15 years.
