Automated Immunohistochemical Staining
using the MARK 5^® Histochemical Staining System

Now DPC's MARK 5 Robotic Pipettor serves as a powerful addition to the histopathology laboratory. In the MARK 5 Histochemical Staining System (MARK 5 HSS), DPC's Histostain Software 100 manages the MARK 5 to provide a cost-effective, automated means of staining immunohistochemistry slides. Automating this process saves technician time; eliminates errors; increases throughput; and ensures consistent, high-quality results.

Using the MARK 5 HSS is efficient and easy, allowing for walk-away capability not afforded by a manual staining protocol. The technician simply assembles the slides in cover plates and trays; places reagent racks on the system; creates a worklist, if necessary, for use with an optional barcode reader; and presses "Start."

The MARK 5's pipetting precision and accuracy ensure quality performance. Its large capacity accommodates up to 100 slides and up to 100 primary antibodies per run. An alarm alerts the technician if reagent is insufficient to complete requested tasks. The MARK 5 HSS is an open system, allowing users to select their own reagents and protocols. The laboratory can perform immunoperoxidase staining of tissue sections with DPC's ImmuStain product line,* or with numerous other reagents and protocols. The user-friendly, user-definable, Windows®-based Histostain Software 100 manages the procedure and timing, providing run-to-run standardization and effective management of laboratory time.
