The XXIX Nordic Congress in Clinical Chemistry gathered together approximately 1000 participants from 26 countries. The congress took place in Malmö, Europaporten Congress Centre, April 24-27 2004. An extensive and very interesting scientific programme (prenary lectures, symposia, diagnostic forums, BMA-programs, main sponsors and industry sponsored workshops) consisted of presentations from more than 100 speakers. Almost 80 posters were presented during the congress and more than 45 companies participated at the exhibition. It was a great opportunity to meet people (old friends and new contacts) from different countries. More information about the congress can be found at www.nfkk2004.org. In the booth DPC showed a new instrument - the IMMULITE 2500 with SMS. The IMMULITE 2500 analyzer is a new high throughput system with flexible incubation time, that allows an improved time to first result. The SMS is a smart sample handling system that is capable to distribute samples between a track and to IMMULITE systems. As one of the largest allergy in vitro diagnostic companies in the world we showed our new cross-reactivity software that was also available on CD in the booth. Also, a workshop was organized about allergy in vitro diagnostics: "Cross-reactivity and CCD, Crossreacting Carbohydrate Determinants, a challenge for the clinicians and the patients", lecturer: dr. Jon Elling Whist, Østfold Hospital, Fredrikstad, Norway. If you are interested in topics that were presented by DPC during the congress, please contact us by e-mail: info@dpc.ee.
