DPC Instrument Systems Division Dedicates New Headquarters

DPC Instrument Systems Division held the official dedication of its spacious new headquarters, located in Flanders, New Jersey, on May 24. The 89,000 sq ft facility provides an open, bright and efficient work environment for DPC's Instrument Systems Division to design, develop and manufacture instrument systems. It also serves as the setting for customer technical support and training for all DPC customers and International Distributor product and service personnel.

James Watson, Ph.D., discoverer of the molecular structure of DNA, Nobel laureate, and member of DPC's Board of Directors, delivered the keynote address, "The Future of DNA." Dr. Douglas Olson, President of the New Jersey division, moderated the event. Addresses were also delivered by Arthur Babson, Ph.D., inventor of the IMMULITE technology, founder of Cirrus Diagnostics Inc. (as it was then known) and 1997 New Jersey Inventor of the Year, and Mr. Michael Ziering, President and CEO of DPC. Topics included a retrospective look at the New Jersey group's progress and how its 1992 acquisition brought together complementary pools of expertise that provided rapid growth for DPC and its product lines, which helped to bring about its current success.

New Jersey senators and congressmen, local government officials and other guests attended the celebration along with 400 employees. The event was also attended by VIP dignitaries, several DPC international distributorships representing 13 countries, key customers and top sales staff.

Building architects, landscape designers, contractors and others involved with the project were on hand to enjoy the festivities as well.

The building was dedicated to the memory of Sigi Ziering, Ph.D., former CEO and Chairman of the Board of DPC, who passed away in November 2000. The dedication ceremony included the unveiling of a plaque honoring Dr. Ziering. Informal tours were conducted throughout the afternoon.

The Flanders facility can expand to encompass 150,000 sq ft to support DPC's continuing rapid growth, and will meet rising manufacturing demands for years to come.
