We
took something great and made it better!

Since
its introduction in 1993 as one of the first benchtop automated random
access immunoassay systems, DPC's IMMULITE® has developed a
worldwide reputation as the most flexible, reliable, and robust system
on the market. This is evidenced by the nearly 6,000 placements in hospitals,
reference laboratories and physician's office laboratories worldwide.
Now
DPC is proud to introduce the newest member of the evolving IMMULITE family
of immunoassay systemsthe IMMULITE® 1000. DPC has taken something
great and made it even better, while still maintaining the IMMULITE's
strongest features, including its extensive menu, ease of use, reliability,
robust hardware and excellent assay performance.
Several
new features have been incorporated into the IMMULITE 1000 design to bring
today's laboratories more of what they have come to expect from an automated
immunoassay system. These features include

Consolidated
footprint
The IMMULITE 1000 footprint has been consolidated by integrating the computer,
keyboard and monitor within the system. The floating arm for the monitor,
keyboard and trackball can be adjusted to accommodate nearly all operators.
This integration of the computer components takes up less bench space,
allowing for easy installation even in laboratories with space constraints.
The IMMULITE 1000 can be network-linked for printing, enabling the printer
to be moved away from the system for optimal space management. In addition,
the generic reagent containers such as those for water and probe wash
have been built into the system to further reduce the system footprint.
Intuitive
software
The IMMULITE 1000's state-of-the-art user software is designed to include
all of the best features of the IMMULITE® 2000, while retaining
all of the highly functional, user-friendly features of the original IMMULITE.
Operators enjoy simple and quick system navigation providing "anywhere
to anywhere" access at the touch of an icon. The IMMULITE 1000 continually
monitors reagents, consumables and system
waste, indicating system status with clear visual and audible guides.
The software automatically updates reagent and consumable inventory status
without user intervention, providing a real-time record for easy system
management. The software also features an excellent and comprehensive
yet flexible solution for QC management. The OnLine Reports tracking and
trending (Levey-Jennings plot) allow for user-definable Westgard rules,
providing the ability to create customized patient reports. In addition,
the IMMULITE 1000 software is capable of multilingual support for six
languages.
On-board
dilutions
The IMMULITE 1000 has automatic on-board dilutions for many prediluted
assays, simplifying the dilution process. Diluents reside within a barcoded
reagent wedge on the reagent carousel and have been consolidated into
Universal Diluents for multiple tests such as ToRCH IgG/IgM to minimize
space usage on the reagent carousel. The process is simple for the operator
to perform, and it removes many manual dilution steps.
Positive
sample identification
The IMMULITE 1000 has the ability to utilize positive secondary sample
identification. A designated sample tube can be barcoded and scanned via
the peripheral hand-held scanner. A modified sample cup holder is then
scanned to identify the location of the sample on the system. The sample
tube is placed on board, followed by the tests to be run. After completion
of the analysis, the sample tube can be removed and used for further analysis
or capped for storage as required. These tubes can also be used for undiluted
control material or for the prediluted assays such SHBG, Anti-TPO Ab and
Anti-TG Ab.
Enhanced
Turbo applications
Further enhancing the flexibility and utility of the system is the IMMULITE
1000 Turbo mode, which produces results in as little as 15 minutes
for assays such as the cardiac biomarkers CK-MB, Myoglobin, Troponin I
and D-Dimer.* Additional Turbo assays include STAT Intact PTH and
HCG. Switching between normal operation and Turbo mode is quick
and easy. By merely exiting the normal operation software and touching
the Turbo icon, the operator is ready to begin testing, once samples
and Turbo reagents have been loaded. The IMMULITE 1000 offers the
flexibility of a STAT system and the advantages of a primary testing analyzerall
in one reliable system.
Menu,
menu, menu
The IMMULITE 1000 offers essentially the same extensive menu of nearly
100 tests and the same quality results as the IMMULITE. The IMMULITE/
IMMULITE 1000 test menu will continue to expand, and several new assays
will be ready for market introduction in the coming months.
Remote
Diagnostics
World-class technical service and customer support are the standard at
DPC. Continuing in this tradition is the IMMULITE 1000 and its Remote
Diagnostics capability. Using a modem link, the IMMULITE 1000 can be accessed
remotely by DPC's Technical Service personnel to diagnose and resolve
system issues quickly and effectively with minimal intervention by the
operator. Modem access is available only with the user's permission, preserving
laboratory control of the system. This level of service continues to raise
the bar for delivering "best of breed" service to our customers.
Across
the board, beta-site evaluators have responded favorably to the IMMULITE
1000. Several users stated that the software was so easy to use, almost
no training was necessary. Others found that the on-board dilutions were
simple and straightforward. Built on the solid foundation of the original
IMMULITE, the IMMULITE 1000 provides the ease of use, reliability, and
flexible platform necessary to make consolidation of immunoassay testing
an effortless decision for today's clinical laboratory. For additional
information on the IMMULITE 1000 or for an on-site demonstration, please
